No heating, no hot water, limited lighting – draconic measures at a Budapest university
Due to the soaring energy prices, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) was forced to introduce some draconic measures to curb the skyrocketing utility costs. Among others, they will drastically reduce the period during which the buildings will be heated. There will be no hot water except for the dormitories and changing rooms, and even the lighting will be weaker. Read more about the details below.
According to szmo.hu, the senate of the university accepted the new measures concerning the way the institution would save energy and money during the crisis. The university aims to carry out its energy-saving plan successfully. The new rules will come into effect on 19 October and remain so until 15 April 2023.Â
Previously, the government decided that education institutions cannot be heated above 18 °C. Furthermore, all universities had to write a so-called energy-saving plan, which they had to present to the Cultural and Innovation Ministry.

- Climate systems, save those needed for research or education, will be shut down.
- There will be no hot water except for the dormitories and the changing rooms.

WE know the Cataclysmic MESS – all the creation of this Fidesz led Victor Orban – the present Prime Minister of Hungary – the Government of Hungary – that EDUCATION, in the “Broadness” of the word – FACTUALLY is in.
We know the continuous fabrication of TRUTH – that over the past 18 months, has been originating out of the Fidesz led Government of Hungary, under Victor Orban.
The BLAME Game – focused on NO funding to Hungary by the European Union, being increased as a “means” to shift the TRUE blame away from the Government, who have FAILED dismally in INVESTMENT into Education in Hungary.
European Funding over a decade – what % factually has been USED for EDUCATION, inclusive of Educators Wages?
The % when you FACTUALLY break it down – APPALLING – as to the offset for “other” projects, this Fidesz led – Victor Orban – Government of Hungary, have used European Funding – FORGETTING – EDUCATION.
Education – opens WINDOWS of Opportunities.
Hungary – to relate with HOPE to this expression, is getting HEAVY to Burden, as to the FUTURE and OPPORTUNITIES.
What a MASSIVE catch-up game Education is FACING in Hungary.
Like Public Hospitals and Public Services – the MASSIVE catch-up – THEY face.
Investment of Taxpayers Money into these PUBLIC SERVICES – from whom & WHERE is it GOING to COME ???
Windows of Opportunities are closing as the Windows certainly will not be OPENED this Winter, on occasions, to “clear the air ” – but STAY closed – through the LACK of FUNDING & Investment, by this Fidesz led Government- under the present Prime Minister – Victor Orban.
